This is an excellent site on Sigrid. I think she is a amazing actress.
Especially in her role as Roslyn in Prisoner cell block H.
< Susan, Invercargill, New Zealand >
I have been a fan of Ms Thornton's for over 20 years, so have followed her career for a long time. I can only say she get's better and
better, not to mention more and more beautiful. Before "Seachange" I liked
her best in "All the Rivers Run", and "Paradise" and it is nice to see her
more modern roles. Congratulations on this beautiful sophisticated web
site, not unlike the great lady herself!
< Henry N., New Orleans, USA >
No other actress has captured my imagination as has Sigrid Thornton. Her ability to capture the emotion and the drive of the
characters she portrays makes her characters so realistic that it is no
wonder that people from around the world find her work so captivating. I
am on a continuous search for more of her work here in the States. The
people of Australia should be very proud of the work she has produced and
see her as a national treasure.

Sigrid Thornton is a STAR!!
I loved her work so much in SeaChange that words can't explain, then
I went to see her in the stage production of Betrayl. For an actress, who was doing her stage debut, she
was as good as any I have ever seen. This woman should be given the star
status that Don Bradman has, after all she has done so much in front of
the cameras and behind to make the Australian and The Victoria (thank God)
film and television industries a force to be at least half reckoned with.
Sigrid Thornton is one of those Australian woman you just want to see
more, her profession, caring, warm ways are etched in small and big screen
history, but we want more.
GO SIGGIE GO.
< Laura, Dalby, QLD, Australia >
Thank you for SeaChange!!
I cannot think of another show which has captured me as much (and my mum!) All of the characters were
brilliant, and can you blame Laura for wanting Max??? I would love to see
a third series....but thank you Sigrid for what you gave us!
< Roy Hardman, Melbourne,

Sigrid,
Many thanks for the great opportunity to meet you at your recent presentation at the Hawthorn Town Hall. It was a real thrill to meet you
and the photo taken was magnificent.
Kindest regards and keep up the great work.
< Claire Templeton, Queanbeyan,
Australia >
Dear Sigrid,
I just absolutely love your work. You are a great Actress and a huge
inspiration for me as well. But I've only seen you in All The Rivers Run
and the best show of all Seachange!!!
< Susan, Missoula, USA >
Very nice site. Easy to explore and full of detailed information. Thanks!
< Pamela, Stockholm, Sweden >
Thanks so much for having produced such a lovely Australian TV show...it makes me miss the wonderful country "down under" with all the
great open minded people everywhere, its amazing beautiful nature and an
english that is not meant to be forgotten...Sigrid...you are really the
world´s best actress and you get the best out of your colleagues!!!
Please continue! Love from Pamela
< Lyn, Ettalong, Burnie, Australia >
Wow, her website's cool too!
Sigrid is the best, no doubts. I was one of the almost 50% of the
television audience at that time watching the final episode of
SeaChange, and yes, I cried.
Since then I've had to be content watching the videos and
listening to the CD's, and watching Sigrid on the other masterpiece
films and shows she's been on.
It is so not helping. We need more SeaChange and Sigrid!
< Marlene Binns, Ettalong, Central
Coast, Australia >
Thank goodness someone has devoted a web-site to one of our very
BEST!
Last week I watched the "LOGIES". There was SIGRID looking
Beautiful, as ever.
As an AUSSIE, I've seen everything she has done, also being the same
age, I've grown up with her. Always BEST WISHES to you, our own
ICON!
What I love about Sigrid is she is very down to earth and not at all
snobbish.
A beautiful "SPIRIT" giving of herself and her craft. A
passionate WOMAN indeed, a Great Mother to her children. Those
beautiful green eyes see the JOY, in herself and all those who see
her, know this woman has a child within. This child does come out to
play.
Good luck always, I admire you from my T.V. screen and the many
magazines that have your Beautiful SMILE, smiling back at us all who
see you.
< Kaye, Ipswich QLD, Australia >
Sigrid is such a wonderful and talented actress, who also happens to be beautiful and charismatic with a wonderful, sparkling
personality.
I hope that a fourth series of "SeaChange" is made!!
Regards,
Kaye.
< Marie, Kalmar, Sweden >
They recently started to show "SeaChange" here in Sweden and
this was the first time I have ever seen the actress Sigrid Thornton but I
already love her acting!
She's amazing!!
< Chris H, Derby, England >
I have to agree with David (below). I've only ever seen Sigrid in 'Paradise' and I still think it was an excellent show, due largely to
Sigrid and Lee Horsley. Unfortunately Series 3 was never shown in England,
so I never knew that she left the series before its end. Will Paradise
every be repeated over here? Hopefully one day.....
< Duncan Potter, Edinburgh, Scotland >
I can only say "At last !", and what a great job you've done in creating this site.
For years I've seen the puzzled faces when answering the "favourite actress" question as Sigrid's almost unknown in Britain, but
now that may change (okay, so I have big ambitions :-) Wonderful site, wonderful
lady.
< David, Cayce, South Carolina, USA >
Sigrid Thornton; a classy lady in a classy TV Western titled "Paradise." Many times she brought a smile to my face with her character's
wry smile and dry wit. It was a sad day when she left the show for reasons
still unknown to me. I have regretted for almost ten years not taping more
of the episodes before the show was canceled!
< Geoff Currey, Sydney, Australia >
I recently saw All The Rivers Run which stars Sigrid and decided to look her up on the net.
I had seen The Man From Snowy River and a few other movies Sigrid
has been in before however I am only now open to see how much she has done.
I am proud to see that an Australian actress has been in so many successful
movies and an active participant in the real life roll of supporting the industry she works in too. By taking on so many official
titles & honorary positions within the Australian film industry Sigrid
comes across to me to be as passionate about what she believes in as she
can play on screen, that is something I admire greatly in anybody. Keep on going Sigrid, you are a credit to man kind! I love the web site
too, it's very comprehensive and interesting to read.
< Bob Goodall, Adelaide, Australia
>
I recently had the opportunity to read the article written about you in "The Bulletin" by Maxine
McKew and realised too that I have developed "LFS" factor and now that SeaChange has regrettably
finished a severe case of "SSA". You are a most charming lady an excellent
actress and a treasured Aussie Icon. Please don't leave it too long before
appearing on our screens once more. Congratulations on all your work.
I don't usually tear things out of magazines but one wall of my workstation now bears the full page
photograph of you that is in this web site and also graced page 53 of " The Bulletin".
< Linda, Bairndale, Australia

I've been a Sigrid fan for years, I'm proud to say Australia is the "Lucky Country" in more than one way, having Talent like Sigrid
here can only show other Aussie's we can compete with whatever the rest of
the world has to offer. Keep up your EXCELLENCE and please do another
series or maybe a movie with my other favourite Aussie Male actor John
Waters.

Thanks for three great years in Sea Change. I absolutely loved the character of Laura and the humour of the show. Unlike most people
though, I believe that is where it should end, a beautiful ending. I have
admired Sigrid's work since the late 70's and can't wait to see her next
project.
< Kylie, Sydney, NSW, Australia

What a fantastic sight dedicated the the most wonderful Australian actress.
I gave up acting a few years ago, however since becoming addicted to
Sea Change all of a sudden I have got the bug back. Sigrid has truly been an inspiration to me, and I can only hope that one
day I will earn the chance to work with her.
< David Huttenmaier, Leander, TX, USA

Many years ago, I saw "The Man From Snowy River" and
fell madly in love with Sigrid. I eventually found an address to
write to her in Australia, and she was kind enough to send me a
note and an autographed picture. She has no idea how much that meant
to me!! Like many other people, when the Internet started being
accessible, I searched for an E-mail address or some other way to
get in touch, and I was frustrated for some time. Finally, I found
this web site, and I'd like to thank the people who have put it
together.
Sigrid is a very talented actress, and I only wish I had more opportunities
to see her. I've even gone so far as to lobby the local Public broadcasting
station to try and acquire the "Sea Change" series, unfortunately
to no avail at this time. I don't know if Sigrid ever views this
site, but if she does, I just want to say Thank You! You are a marvellous
actress and a beautiful woman.
< Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Hanoi, Vietnam
>
Sigrid, how can I express my love for you? You are so wonderful.
Maybe you can't hear me because I am so faraway (Vietnam). Thank
You.
< Katie, Brisbane, Australia >
This is a really good website and I'm so glad I found it! Sigrid
Thornton is a brilliant actress, I have seen her in 'The Man from
Snowy River', 'All the Rivers Run', and every week in the Aussie
TV programme, my favourite show ever, SeaChange'. Congratulations
for the awards at the Logies Sigrid, you deserved it!Thanks for
the day two years ago when you were signing autographs at the shopping
centre near me! Even though we had to line up for ages it was well
worth the wait to meet you!Katie.
< Larry Kalb, Laramie Wyoming, USA

Eureka!!! Finally, a site dedicated to one of the most talented
actresses on any screen! I became aware of her work when I was Fifteen
years old and extremely ill. I was home for almost an entire year
of school because of my health. Needless to say I spent an awful
lot of time in front of the idiot box (TV). Thank God for HBO!!!
All the Rivers Run was the only thing running that was of any quality
that was on. I thoroughly enjoyed the series and the performance
of its cast was outstanding! Naturally, Sigrid was the highlight
of the whole series. Unfortunately, the only other work I have seen
of hers are Snowy River 1 & 2. I was not lucky enough to catch
Paradise because my father had control of the TV after 5pm.
All I can say is keep up the good work in all that you do because
you are making a difference in peoples lives!!!!
< Jacqueline Stoneburner, USA >
What can I say? You are the best!!!!!!
I only wish I had the chance to view ALL of your work.
< Becky - Antlers, USA >
I just wanted to say I loved your role in "Paradise".
Just the other day my mom and I found some of the episodes my dad
recorded and seeing that nothing good was on t.v., we started watching
them. I have to say that I didn't really remember them because I
was only eight when they came out but I really enjoyed them. The
episode when you left the show was so sad. I'm not a very emotional
person but I wanted to cry. You are a very talented actress and
I am glad I got to see some of your work. Thank you for sharing
your talent with everyone. My God bless in all you do.
< Carol Fincher - Little Rock, Arkansas,
USA >
I watched "All The Rivers Run" on cable years
ago and loved the series and Sigrid as heroine. The series aired
recently on DirecTV and I watched it again. Now that I am older,
I have a renewed appreciation for strong female characters and Sigrid
is the absolute BEST at portraying powerful, intelligent women,
yet somehow managing to remain appealing and likeable in the process.I
was so impressed with Sigrid's acting ability in "Rivers"
that, today, I rented both "Snowy River" movies so that
I can enjoy them all over again.Wondering what Sigrid had been up
to in the intervening years led me to do a web search. I was delighted
to find this site. Wow! Has she been busy!I regret that we don't
get to see more of Sigrid's work in the States. I remember "Paradise"
and stopped watching the show when she left. I assumed she had returned
to Australia. She is a special talent and truly a national treasure
for Australia. Please continue to keep us posted on Sigrid's activities
via the web site and the details for obtaining copies of her work.
BTW, whoever designed and implemented the web site did a beautiful
job. Everything works! No glitches.
< Heidi - USA >
Just wanted to say Thanks for the web site.
Sigrid has been one of my favourite actresses since I saw her in
The Man from Snowy River. You should have seen me freak out when
I found out that they had made a sequel to it. When Return to Snowy
River came out I saw it 25 times at the theatre alone. I think the
ticket taker guy got sick of me haaaa. I have seen some of
her other work (The Lighthorseman, Slate, Wyn and Me, The Far Country,
which I loved) but my favourite was when she came to America
to star in Paradise!!
I was so excited because I got to see her every week and
I loved her character Amelia Lawson because she was different
than most of the female characters that were on TV at the
time. I was happy to read on your site that she got an award
for the episode where Amelia got shot. I loved that episode!!
Needless to say, I was really upset when she left the show. I
kept hoping she'd come back because I missed her, but she didn't
and although I loved Lee Horsley the show just wasn't the
same and of course, without her it got cancelled LOL. Not
that that's funny but she did make the show!.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for the site because
since she left Paradise I haven't heard much about her. I
live in the states so I can't watch her new show, which is
sad for me, but I'm glad she's doing well and I wish her continued
success. She looks great by the way in the pictures I saw
from SeaChange.
Thanks Again
Heidi
< Michelle Weldon - England >
Dear Sigrid (or whoever runs this page),
Could you please let me know what Sigrid is doing nowadays. Is she
still in Australia and can we expect any new television programmes/films
to be aired in England with this fine actress in?
Hope you are well and thanks for this site.
Kind Regards,
MICHELLE WELDON

Dear Sigrid,
I hope this message finds you in good health. I was so thrilled
this week when I found a fan mail address for you at my local library
- I just had to write a letter to you in the hope it would reach
you.
I am a British fan of your career, and would firstly like to express
my great admiration for the work you have done in the television
industry, as I consider you to be one of your country's most versatile,
exciting performers and rank you as one of the finest talents of
your generation. You have evidently imparted an air of cool intelligence
and a stamp of authority to every role you have played, especially
in "Feds" and, of course, in "Trapped in Space".
Thank you very much for advancing the art of screen acting through
your most memorable and distinguished performances, and many thanks
for taking the time and trouble of reading my message.
Yours sincerely,
Matthew George.
< Bill Bailey - USA >
Thank you for many
hours of viewing pleasure.
Here in the states you have a growing group of loyal fans . I as
one voice wait for your next great performance . Please, do
what you can about having your films released here.
Thanks again
Bill Bailey
< Ellen - Norway >
Hello.
My name is Ellen,I´m a 20 years old girl from Norway.
When I was very young, I saw "the man from snowy river" and it was
then my
favourite movie! and I absolutely loved Sigrid. Then I saw it again
some years after, taped it and watched it over and over again. I
also watched the return to snowy river and this (something river),
and she then became my first favourite actress. I haven't seen any
movies with her for many many years now, and suddenly today I started
thinking about her, and searched the net. I just want to show my
respect to her. She is an incredible actress! And like my parents
always said: "Australians makes the best movies and series"
Ellen Augland
< Another Fan - USA >
Thank you,
I became a great fan of Sigrid Thornton's when I started watching PARADISE.
Unfortunately, that's one of the few American Shows that I've seen of
her. So thank you very much for making this site available, I will certainly
be returning to it.
< Douglas, Rachelle, Gage & Alisa

I live in a small
town of 197 people in Rayville Missouri located in the USA, I am
a huge Sigrid Thornton fan and adore her and all her movies and
achievements I have searched for a long time in hope that I might
find some sort of address or E-mail where I could Send my appreciation
, she is a big inspiration to us all and would love some sort of
picture autographed by her or just something showing that she heard
from me.
Love always to you Sigrid Thornton,
From loyal and true friends to a beautiful person Douglas @ Rachelle

< Amy - USA >
I just finished watching Snowy River Parts I & II and
wondered why we here in
the USA haven't seen more of Sigrid Thornton.
I thought I would check the web to see if she was still
active in film--is she ever! Is there a possibility that Ms. Thornton
might do more work over here that we could enjoy? Also, regarding
the Snowy River movies, has Ms. Thornton ever worked with Tom Burlinson
again? I'm so glad to have discovered your sight and to find out
so
many new and interesting things about Sigrid Thornton. Thanks!
Amy
< Nancy Clark - USA >

I have respected and admired for many years. She is a delight!!

Nancy Clark
< Laurie - USA >
Hi - I was
surprised to find a Sigrid Thornton website, as I have looked in
the past and not been able to find any. What a great job you have
done! I am a tremendous fan of Ms. Thornton's, but here in the US
we don't get much info on her, so if you could include more news
and articles, that would be great.
Keep up the good work!
Laurie
< Melody Johnson >
Sigh! Someone
FINALLY devoted a website to this WONDERFUL actress! THANKS!!!
